Bio
Born and raised in California Sean Ray first moved to Sydney in 2002 one week out of high school and searching. For the last few years he has been defying commercial boundaries and pushing the envelope for genre crossing artists on stages around the country as Snob Scrilla and on decks coast to coast as Snob Scrilla Sound System (SSSS).
Having rocked sets with Diplo, Jesse Rose, Fake Blood, Boy 8-Bit and more while sharing the stage with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Public Enemy, PNAU, Cut Copy, Plump DJs, Bumblebeez, and more, Snob's eclectic blend of future and commercial has established him as one of the most hyped up and comers in the Australian scene.
Showing true musical dexterity, Snob has also served production and song writing duties on a number of projects, most recently winning an Aria award for writing the highest selling single of 2009.
Hitting the road on three national tours as well as appearing in spots at Parklife, Falls Festival, Homebake, Fat as Butter, Coaster, and One Movement Music Festival all in the last two years, the masses have now been exposed to the raw energy and unpredictable nature of his sets. Seamlessly mashing party electro, big room house, tech house, dustep, indie rock, and party hip-hop all into one big package he calls Radcakes. This massive scope of sounds that Snob drops in his sets which cannot be defined serve as the essence of his sets, becoming a true extension of the no holds barred energy he delivers on stage.
With release set for a new Snob Scrilla record in 2010 as well as now being signed to Hussle/Ministry of Sound with his new group Cutlass Supreme alongside Groove Terminator, Snob is poised for an absolutely massive year. Whether on T.V. on stage, or in the club, there is no way you're going to possibly miss out on the radcakes he’s serving up.
